Abstract
The Donald Robinson Library at Moore Theological College stands as the largest theological library in Australia, with origins dating to the College’s founding in 1856. This article examines the library’s historical development, tracing its evolution from a modest and intermittently supported collection, largely sustained through irregular donations, to a well-resourced academic library. It explores the progressive formation of the library’s holdings, focusing on the acquisition of significant special collections that have shaped its scholarly identity. The article also considers the challenges associated with accommodating a growing collection, highlighting the long-standing struggle to secure adequate library facilities. A brief overview of the life and ministry of Donald Robinson (1922-2018) is also included, touching on his influence on the library's development.
