A Biblical Understanding and Practice of Missions
Main Article Content
Abstract
Mark Dever emphasizes that missions involves spreading the gospel and planting churches across geographic and cultural boundaries. He explains that the aim of missions is to bring people into a reconciled relationship with God, rooted in biblical teaching. Dever outlines seven practical ways churches can engage in missions: learning God’s Word, praying for gospel spread, planning for local and global outreach, supporting missionaries, sending pastors to establish churches, caring for those sent, and practicing patience in mission fields. He concludes that healthy churches are essential for effective missions, as they serve as the foundation for spreading the gospel worldwide.
