About the Journal

The Pacific Journal of Theological Research (PJTR), formerly The Pacific Journal of Baptist Research, which continues The New Zealand Journal of Baptist Research, is an open-access online journal which aims to provide an international vehicle for scholarly theological research with a special focus on the Pacific region.

However, topics are not limited to the Pacific region, and this journal contains subject matter potentially of significance for theological scholarship and ecclesial communities. This PJTR archive holds interdisciplinary biblical, theological, and historical research that intersects with other scholarly disciplines and knowledge sources.

All published PJTR articles have been blind peer-reviewed, with submissions sent to international scholars in the appropriate fields for critical review before being accepted for publication. While this journal is not currently taking submissions, you may reach out to us at enquiries@carey.ac.nz if you have any questions about past publications.
