Call for Submissions to Themed Issue Discussing AI Authorship
2025-10-30
Theological Librarianship welcomes submissions for a themed issue to be published in April 2026 discussing AI authorship.
With the rapid rise and adoption of generative artificial intelligence and large language models in academic spaces, librarians have been faced with pressing questions about copyright, academic integrity, environmental ethics, and a host of other concerns. In this issue of Theological Librarianship, we want to consider what it means to be a human author in the age of AI, as well as what it means for algorithmic applications to “author” works, and the implications of a potential shift in the definition of “authorship.”
The deadline for original scholarship requiring peer review is December 31. For non-peer-reviewed essays, the submission deadline is February 1.
