There is no “How To” manual for starting an academic library. This essay is one experience in the effort to take a room of books and make the journey to an accredited resource center for a theological graduate school. The collaborative expertise of colleagues, the wisdom and direction garnered from professional meetings, and the wary wiles of technological information resources serves to chronicle this rocky and rewarding road to accomplishment
