Two members met online to share news of our respective and related libraries.
II. Round Robin Reports
Bushnell University – Now in her second year at Bushnell, Robin has been appointed Director of the Kellenberger Library. The faculty at Bushnell come from several branches of the Campbell-Stone Movement.
Abilene Christian University – ACU Library is opening the Landon Saunders Center for Joy and Human Flourishing in August, in connection with its receipt of Landon Saunders’ archives last year. Received this year were the Enos Dowling Hymnal Collection and archival records from Lincoln Christian University, which has closed; and the Thomas H. Olbricht books and papers, along with archives from Ohio Valley University, after bankruptcy proceedings were concluded. The library’s fundraising is focused on endowments for its collections.
III. Other News
The Disciples of Christ Historical Society, now in Bethany, West Virginia, has announced a vacancy for an archivist. Oklahoma Christian University has reduced its number of librarians from three to one, citing enrollment challenges. Its former theological librarian, Atla member Chris Rosser, is now the First Year and Transfer Student Experience Librarian at Oklahoma State University. Pepperdine University’s Lucy Perrin is now the Director and Archivist for Rushford Center for Research on the History of Churches of Christ and the Stone-Campbell Restoration Movement. Jerry Rushford is the Curator of Pepperdine’s Churches of Christ Heritage Collection. Harding School of Theology will be moving this fall from Memphis, Tennessee, to Searcy, Arkansas, after 66 years at its home campus at 1000 Cherry Road in Memphis. The library will be relocated to Searcy in 2026. It will be open by appointment only until the move. Atla member Whitney Hammes has been appointed the Theological Librarian.
