God’s People Turn to Scripture The Post-Crisis Response in Nehemiah 8
Main Article Content
Abstract
The post-crisis experience of the Judeans in Nehemiah 8 depicts God’s people turning to Scripture for renewal. The passage provides an example for post-pandemic Christians today. God’s people should gather together around God’s word. They should set apart godly leaders for the sake of reading, clarifying, and translating it for those no longer familiar with it. They should honor and reverence both God’s word and the God to whom it points. And they should obey it. In a post-pandemic context, missionaries should prioritize these responses with the churches whom they serve alongside.
