Intercessory Prayer and the Missionary's Stewardship
Main Article Content
Abstract
In the Bible, we have not only Jesus’ example of what it looks like to abide, but we also have the command to abide in Him. John 15 tells us that this abiding bears fruit and that this fruit remains. The heart of the missionary is to see fruit from their labors, and one way God tells us to be fruitful is to spend time in the Word and in prayer. Intercessory prayer for the peoples of the earth is foundational to the missionary task. Missionaries steward the responsibility to be people who abide deeply and ask God to do what He can do among the nations. Missionaries also steward the responsibility of inviting the Church into the harvest field through intercessory prayer.
