As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The text is formatted in accordance with the guidelines provided in the Submission Instructions.
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format. PDF format will not be accepted.
  • The text is single-spaced and complies with the typeface style and size guidelines in the Submission Instructions.
  • The full names of all committee or group members, including institutional affiliations, have been included and checked for spelling and accuracy.
  • Submission includes an activity report with all listed and required elements
  • Any included images are either the property of the submitter, licensed for use (e.g., Creative Commons), used with permission of the rightsholder or are otherwise free of copyright or other restrictions against reuse. Attribution for all images are included in the text of your submission.

Thank you for participating in an Atla Committee or Group. Your work is a valuable contribution to the Association and reflects the core purpose of Atla to promote worldwide scholarly communication in religion and theology by advancing the work of libraries and related information providers. All submissions must be completed through the OJS site for the Atla Yearbook. We no longer accept submissions by email or other means. To submit, you will need to register (if you have not done so already) and login at http://serials.atla.com/yearbook. Once logged in, you may either visit the Submissions site and “Start a New Submission” or from the User Dashboard select "Start a New Submission," which will take you to the Submission form where you will select the type of submission you are making, add details about your submission and then upload your document. The following groups are responsible for submitting their reports according to the format guidelines below to the annual Yearbook through OJS. Failure to follow these instructions or to submit by the due date specified below will result in the omission of your report from the Yearbook

  • Interest Groups
  • Denominational Groups
  • Committees and Task Forces

Also, persons submitting Memorials should upload the text of those documents following the submission instructions above.

NOTE -- the Yearbook is for annual reports of these groups only. If your group presented at Conference, the text of that presentation should be submitted to the Proceedings.

All submissions must be completed by September 27, 2019.

Please be sure to include complete submitter name, institutional affiliation, and role where appropriate (e.g., Committee Chair) with all submissions. Accurate and complete information is the responsibility of the submitter. Atla is not responsible for any errors in the spelling of or omission of a committee or group members.

All submissions will be formatted according to the Yearbook style. Please use the following guidelines to ensure that your submission will be faithfully represented in the Yearbook and easy to reformat. If you have questions about grammar, style, usage, etc., consult the Chicago Manual of Style, which is the primary source for Atla's publication style.

Typeface - Use a common font such as Times New Roman, Arial, Trebuchet, etc. If you have headings, please keep the different heading size consistent. You may use the following to help with consistency:

  • Main body text: 10pt
  • Title and byline: 18pt
  • Major section heading: 16pt
  • Subheading in major section: 14pt
  • Second-level subheading in major section: 14pt italics

Content - Please include the following elements:

  • Name of Group
  • Name of submitter
  • Activity report - must include the following information:
    • Committee or group leadership, if applicable
    • Roster of group or committee members, including institutional affiliation
    • Details of any in person or virtual meetings
    • Business minutes or other meeting notes
    • Summary of activities (e.g., hosted programs or webinars)
    • News, highlights, or projects the groups or committee would like to report on or share with Atla membership

Images - All images must be uploaded as separate files and must also be included inline within the text of your document. Please include images inline with the text of your document as you want them to appear. Images must either be your own, licensed for use (e.g., Creative Commons), used with permission of the rightsholder or otherwise be free of copyright or other restrictions against reuse. Attribution for all images must be included in the text of your submission. Please note, images or graphics with dark backgrounds and color graphics do not reproduce well.
